My name is Jennifer. I started my career in education teaching high school Spanish. I transitioned to administration in a new district as a professional development coordinator. I then served as an assistant principal and principal over the last 5 years. I have an Ed.D, in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also a mother of two boys.

I loved seeing children learning in the classroom, playing at recess, and smiling in the hallways - other people's children. After 20 years in education, I made the difficult decision to take a break to focus on myself and my family. Or, at least that's what I am doing for now. I finished my contract on June 30, 2023, and I am currently choosing to be unemployed (per my MIL). I am not certain exactly what my future holds.

Our family had a great summer, and my kids have returned to school. I have been reviewing job postings and suggestions for transitioning educators. I have a great skillset, if I do say so myself, but I just need some time. While I'm taking time for myself, I thought I might dedicate some time to you, too. I am creating this resource based on my experiences as a principal and a mom. I hope you find a useful tip or you can at least relate to my stories and know that you are not alone.
